The project will also present information on Ukrainian life cycle ritual, the rites of marriage, birth and death including photographs of two actual weddings, one baptism, and four funerals.

There will be limited information on the rituals of the calendar year: photographs of two Ivan Kupalo celebrations and photographs of the festival of Spas, the blessing of the harvest, and of an Ascension Day commemoration of the dead.

A few examples are shown below, over 1000 annotated photographs of these rituals can be found by searching the Research Database of Annotated Photographs.

Our plan is to expand coverage, time and resources permitting. We plan to include areas of Ukraine other than the central region. We hope to include information on all of the rituals of the calendar year. Furthermore, we plan to provide other media, videos, sound files offering samples of courtship songs, songs that go with the various stages of the wedding, and psalmy, the songs sung at the wake after a funeral. The sound files will eventually be available in transcription and English translation.
