Most of these photographs are of Central Ukraine. They were collected in the five regions shown on the map below. They can either be examined by region by clicking on the appropriate RED RECTANGLE on the map, or alphabetically by place by clicking HERE, THEN RETURN TO THIS PAGE BY CLICKING THE BROWSER BACK BUTTON.

We would like to point out that the rituals that these photographs describe were not "staged", they were taken during the actual baptism, wedding, or funeral. As a result the quality of some of the photographs is rather poor, but they do allow you to see the actual ritual, often for the first time.
