Heimilisvinurinn (Friend to the Home) was an Icelandic language newspaper first issued in Gimli, Manitoba on March 30, 1910. The newspaper was run by Gisli Magnusson, who was a printer, publisher, and an accomplished book-binder. As the manager of Maple Leaf Printing and Publishing Company at Gimli, Gisli Magnusson also published another newspaper in Gimli entitled Gimlungur. Heimilisvinurinn's main contents included local news and translated stories. Its last issue was on October 4, 1911.
