Gimlungur was an Icelandic language newspaper published in Gimli, Manitoba. It continued Baldur, another Icelandic newspaper in the region. Gimlungur was published from 1910 to 1914. It was a weekly newspaper owned by Gisli Magnusson, who was a printer, publisher, and an accomplished book-binder. As the manager of Maple Leaf Printing and Publishing Company at Gimli, Gisli Magnusson also published another newspaper in Gimli entitled Heimilisvinurinn. Later, he also published The Weekly Observer at Ashern, and Dagrenning in Winnipeg. The content of Gimlungur mainly included local news.
