Wawatay News, one of the services provided by Wawatay Communications Society, is a bi-weekly newspaper distributed across communities in Northern Ontario. Its content focuses on Indigenous news and culture. Wawatay News Online also provides a learning tool geared for high school students. Wawatay News has received over fifteen awards, including the ONCA Rural Journalism Award in 2003, the ONCA Community Service Award in 2003, and the ONCA Best Editorial in 2004.
