Der Deutsche Canadier und Neuigkeitsbote was a German language newspaper published in Kitchener (formerly Berlin), Ontario. The newspaper was published for more than twenty four years, from January 1841 to January 1865. During this period, Der Deutsche Canadier und Neuigkeitsbote had a succession of owners, publishers and editiors. In March 1848, it had a small extra issue that covered details of the revolutions in various European countries. Beside a focus on European news, the newspaper carried a certain amount of poetic and prose literary material. It also featured serial stories. English news and advertisements could also be found occasionally in its publication of the later stage. Although good German was what this newspaper aimed at, it was criticized for the deficiencies in styles and language.
