Description
One of many services provided by Wawatay Native Communications Society, Wataway Radio Networks run 24/7. WRN offers local, national, and international news as well as music, community announcements, call-in shows, legend and language programs, and special programs for women, elders, and youth. While WRN runs an English version for Aboriginals who do not understand indigenous languages, 44 hours of the weekly unique programming is broadcast in Aboriginal languages and some of this programming is available in online podcasts. In 2008, WRN received the Aboriginal Partnership Award at the Timmins Chamber of Commerce NOVA Awards.
