Description
Missing & Murdered is a CBC News podcast hosted by CBC News investigative reporter Connie Walker. Walker is Cree and keeps her perspective as an Indigenous woman at the forefront in the podcast. The podcast is carried out with input from the families. Missing & Murdered aims to raise awareness about the epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Canada. This podcast contains sensitive material that some listeners may find disturbing.

Missing & Murdered comprises two seasons. Aired in 2016 (October to December), season 1, "Missing & Murdered: Who Killed Alberta Williams?", is eight episodes long and traces the story of Alberta Williams, a 24-year-old woman from the Gitanyow Band in British Columbia who was murdered in 1989. The season was created after Walker had received a tip from a former RCMP officer who investigated the case back in the 90s. This tip leads her to follow leads on the case that had never been solved.

Aired in 2018 (March to April), season 2, "Missing & Murdered: Finding Cleo", is 10 episodes long and traces the family's search of Cleo Nicotine Semaganis. In the 1970s, Cleo and her five siblings were apprehended by child welfare authorities in Saskatchewan and placed in different white families across North America. The five siblings have reconnected but have been unable to find Cleo. The podcast reports on their search and follows new leads.
