The Makoons Media Group is an emerging, independent, Indigenous media company committed to Indigenous Storytelling. It creates digital projects that center Indigenous voices in an effort to disrupt, inspire, and transform the world around us. The Makoons Media Group works the intersection of Indigenous Storytelling with digital media and the internet.
Still emerging and growing, the Makoons Media Group includes the following digital projects:
- building Indian & Cowboy, an Indigenous Podcast Network;
- producing two Indigenous audio podcasts, Red Man Laughing and Stories From The Land (both of which are supported through the Indian & Cowboy podcast network);
- developing and producing a short comedy, The Bottle written by Ryan McMahon, Anishinaabe comedian;
- developing a comedic feature film, 75 000 Beaver Pelts; and
- developing a sitcom pilot, Don't Call Me Chief.
