Founded in 1984, Alberta Native News is an independent newspaper serving Indigenous communities across Canada. It distributes 12,000 copies monthly to all First Nation and Inuit communities, Metis settlements and Friendship Centres throughout Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northern BC, the Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories.

Alberta Native News is published monthly in tabloid format and features national and regional news that is important to the Indigenous communities across the country. Subjects of the magazine as well as website articles include arts and culture, business, education and training, as well as community event and featured columns. The newspaper promotes Indigenous cultures and communities and showcases artwork by emerging and acclaimed Native artists.
