Description
CFWE, or Windspeaker Radio, broadcasts to more than 85 communities across Alberta. CFWE radio broadcasts at the following frequences and in the following areas: 98.5 fm Edmonton, 94.5 fm Fort Mc Murray, 90.5 fm Lac La Biche, 96.7 fm Cold Lake/ St.Paul, 91.7 fm Joussard, 96.7 fm Moose Hills Region, 89.3 fm in Southern Alberta. The radio station focuses on Indigenous music and country music. Windspeaker Radio also broadcasts several special weekly features: Conversational Cree, Conversational Nakoda, The Indigenous Women in the 21st Century, and Alberta Homegrown Show. 

CFWE is owned by the Aboriginal Multi-Media Society of Alberta and based in Edmonton. The radiostation was launched in 1987 in Lac La Biche. Since 2008, the Edmonton station is the main station. In 2018, CFWE launched a sister station in Calgary, CJWE 88.1 FM. CFWE-FM is a founding member of the Western Association of Aboriginal Broadcasters (WAAB).

Tri-weekly bingo nights (Monday, Thursday, and Saturday) provide financial support to AMMSA and its broadcasting.
