  1. maqam: ~Nahawand C (in fact it's a dastgah, but approximately corresponding to Nahawand C!)
  2. iqa`: 4/4 (tonbak)

form

(on this piece, all percussionists sing, except for the tonbak. Numbered phrases are vocal only - instrumental interlude is not numbered.)

  1. Tonbak solo, followed by period of silence (this is the cue that we'll soon start)
  2. Tonbak plays four bars of 4/4 as intro
  3. Instrumental version of first phrase (repeated)
  1. First phrase chorus (repeated)
  2. First phrase solo (repeated)
  3. Second phrase chorus, then solo
  4. Third phrase chorus
  5. Instrumental interlude
  6. Fourth phrase solo, then chorus
  7. Fifth phrase solo, then chorus (taking us to the bottom of page one of notation)
  8. Sixth phrase solo, ending in one bar rest (top of page 2)
  9. Seventh phrase chorus
  10. Eighth phrase solo, then chorus
  11. Ninth phrase solo
  12. Tenth phrase solo, echoed by chorus
  13. 11th phrase solo
  14. 12th phrase chorus, then solo (bottom of p. 2)
  15. First phrase again, repeated twice by full chorus (slow to end) (top of p. 3)
