from Leah:

Effect of lens focal length

Here’s a great visual for different types of camera movement as well as different types of shots: Link

The Studio Binder YouTube channel is an excellent resource for seeing different aspects of video (Specifically cinematography, but it’s relevant here too) in action with explanations and real world examples.

videos from Studio Binder that may be helpful: - Camera Movement - Editing Transitions - Frame Rates - Shot Sizes - Camera Lenses - Depth of Field - Camera Rigs - Editing Techniques - Camera Angles (Some of these are completely irrelevant to our work, but it gives a good explanation to how each shot gives off a certain feeling. Ex. Filming without the camera being level isn’t ideal because of the dutch angle.)

- ISO - Shutter Speed - Aperture

(see here for links to the above)

Here’s a really good video I recently watched that explains why videos shot in the dark don’t look very good: Link

Finally, here’s a link for DaVinci Resolve, which is a free editing software. They also have a professional paid version that’s regularly used in Hollywood: Link

Along with an introduction to editing on the software: Link
