Abstract: Kurt Adler was born in Vienna on January 5, 1919. He was educated at Dublin University (B.A. in 1944) and the University of Toronto (D.P.H. in 1960), and was made a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in the U.K. in 1970. Mr. Adler came to Canada in 1950. He was a general practitioner and medical health officer in Newfoundland between 1950 and 1957 and then moved to Fort MacLeod as the medical director and health officer of the Chinook Health Unit.

Abstract: Brief history of Mennonite immigration and settlement in Alberta with map (p. 32). Details are provided on the various Mennonite conferences in the Province. As of the publication date of the Mennonite Encyclopedia, Churches of the Mennonite Church are Bethany Church in Smith, Salem (Tofield), Mt. Calvary (Westward Ho), Acadia Valley (Acadia Valley), West Zion (Carstairs), Duchess (Duchess), Mount View (High River), and Stirling Church in Stirling. To the General Conference Mennonite Church belong Lacombe-Neukirchner and Schoenseer both in Tofield, Scarboro (Calgary), Westheimer (Rosemary), Vauxhall-Grantham (Vauxhall), Coaldale (Coaldale), and Blumenthal southeast of Pincher Creek. The churches of the Mennonite Brethren included the churches of the same name in La Glace, Lindbrook, Linden, Namaka, Gem, Vauxhall, Grassy Lake, Coaldale and Pincher Creek. Churches of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite are Rosedale Church in Crooked Creek and Linden (Swallwell). Among the larger and older churches of the United Missionary Church were Mennonite churches established in Edmonton, Galahad, and Didsbury. An Old Colony Mennonite Church was found in Ft. Vermilion.
