Khan al-Khalil:

2*(2*(3*W + MS) + 2*(MS + W)) + 2*(2*MF + B + A + 2*MF + B + D.) + 4*A

Pyramids Street:

2*(3*MQ + S(A,B)) + 2*(MS + S(A,B)) + 4*(3*B + S(A,A,B,B)) + 2*(B + S(A,B)) + PSPSPSSS

where:

D = dum (strong, low - fixed)
T = tek (sharp, high - fixed)
. = iss (open, weak, variable)

MK = masmudi kabir (8 beats): DDTTD.TT

W = wahda (4 beats): D....... (but emphasize some of the "iss" as follows: D..t..t.)

MQ = maqsum (4 beats): DT.TD.T.

MS = masmudi saghir (4 beats): DD.TD.T.

SA = sa`idi (4 beats): DT.DD.T.

B = bamb (2 beats): DT.TD.T. (same as maqsum, but compressed to only 2 beats)

M = malfuf (2 beats): D..T..T. (similar to wahda, but compressed to 2 beats)

A = ayyub (2 beats): D..TD.T.

P = one beat pattern, consisting of D.TT

S = solo of same length (number of beats) as preceding pattern

A, B designate two soloists; their order (through multiple repeats) is specified in a parenthetical list.
