Listening quiz playlist
This playlist of 15 music samples is in preparation for the Listening Quiz scheduled for Monday, November 28. The test is to be performed in class in 50 minutes.
Out of the 15 tracks listed below, only 8 tracks will be selected for the test by the instructor. The 8 selected tracks will be played for you in class (only audio will be played, not video). You will be required to fill in a questionnaire by providing relevant information about each track while it is being played in class. The information you will need to provide includes 1) name of performer; 2) country of origin; 3) music genre, style or tradition.
Each of the 8 tracks will count for 0.5 points in the overall grade for this assignment (4 points in total = A). Each required piece of information (i.e. name of performer, country, and music genre) will be counted separately towards your grade (that is, each piece of information will count for approx. 0.166 points).
Please listen carefully to the tracks and review the information provided below in preparation for the test. Anything put in brackets in the info below (such as song titles) is FYI only, and will not be required for the test. The sign / indicates equally valid alternatives.
