Follow the instructions for digitizing VHS video on the page VHS Video.

  • In Step 6. Save the project as: accession number, replacing [.] with [-]_VHS. Example: 1997.3.1 becomes 1997-3-1_VHS. Save the project in the following folder: Desktop>Northern Alberta Fiddle Project>VHS Digitizations.
  • In Step 8. Do not limit the Capture Now time.
  • If there is more than 6 or 7 seconds of blue/blank screen at the end of the video, clip the extra blue/blank screen: Mark the beginning and end of the extra blank screen, click Mark>Select In to Out. Press Backspace on the keyboard; click Mark>Clear In and Out. Then save the project.

  • your initials and the date of digitization
  • any comments about the quality of the digitization or the VHS
  • any comments about the relationship of the VHS to any Hi8 tape(s) in the collection.
