The KIS Application

Key ideas:

  • These terms and concepts are used in the program guidelines:
    • "Effective knowledge exchange and mobilization"
    • "Knowledge mobilization initiative"
  • Objectives of the KIS program: (from the KIS program overview)
    • "develop or expand strategies to systematically move social sciences and humanities knowledge from areas in which a university has recognized research strength into active service beyond academic circles"
    • "build or expand relationships and facilitate knowledge exchange between specific non-academic stakeholders and researchers whose expertise is relevant to those stakeholders’ interests and concerns"
    • "create or expand opportunities for students in the social sciences and humanities to develop knowledge mobilization skills through hands-on experience"
  • Our activities must: (from the KIS program overview):
    • "draw on accumulated social sciences and humanities expertise in areas where an institution has demonstrated research strengths"
