On Wednesday, October 19, folkwaysAlive! and Festival Place are hosting rhythm and blues musician Allen Toussaint for the weekly meeting. We’ve asked him to talk about his experience in the music business, current challenges for musicians, and where he finds inspiration.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Allen Toussaint, is one of the giants of New Orleans rhythm and blues, soul and funk. A true master of the art, Toussaint has collaborated with the who's who of 20th century music including Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Elvis Costello. His television appearances include performances on the popular series Austin City Limits and The Late Show with David Letterman. He has penned hits from "Southern Nights" to "Working on A Coal Mine," "Fortune Teller," "Right Place Wrong Time" and "Land Of A Thousand Dances." Toussaint's music is at the heart of just about every R&B, soul funk, and jazz sound in the last 40 years.
