Follow the instructions for digitizing VHS video on the page VHS Video.
- In Step 6. Save the project as: accession number, replacing [.] with [-]_VHS. Example: 1997.3.1 becomes 1997-3-1_VHS. Save the project in the following folder: Desktop>VMC
- In Step 8. Do not limit the Capture Now time.
- If there is more than 6 or 7 seconds of blue/blank screen at the end of the video, clip the extra blue/blank screen: Mark the beginning and end of the extra blank screen, click Mark>Select In to Out. Press Backspace on the keyboard; click Mark>Clear In and Out. Then save the project.
Enter the following information into the Virtual Museum Progress Spreadsheet on the video G5:
- your initials and the date of digitization
- any comments about the quality of the digitization or the VHS
- any comments about the relationship of the VHS to any Hi8 tape(s) in the collection.
Now you are ready to export the video. See How to export video to be stored on the server for instructions.
