"Matt Glaser is from the Berklee College of Music in Boston (http://berklee.edu/faculty/detail/matt-glaser). A founding member of the Wayfaring Strangers, Glaser is equally
comfortable playing bluegrass, gypsy swing or improvisational jazz.
Among the many musical giants he has performed with are Stephane
Grapelli and Yo-Yo Ma, Ralph Stanley, Mark O'Connor and David
Grisman. He is featured on the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack for
Ken Burns' 1990 The Civil War and the 2001 Jazz documentary where he
also appears as a narrator in the film. He has authored two books and
an instructional video for the violin. While in Edmonton Glaser will
offer a couple of lecture demonstrations and complete the week with a
public concert in Convocation Hall."
The concert will be Friday, October 15th at 8pm at Convocation Hall.
Matt will perfrom with Edmonton musicians Wayne Feschuk (piano),
Daniel Gervais (fiddle), Clint Pelletier (guitar), and Travis Switzer
(bass), the "No longer Strangers" (get it?)
Adult tickets will be 25$ and Students/Under 16 yrs. will be 15$.
Peter North of CKUA will also be coming to this meeting. As well, the
"No Longer Strangers" will be there.
Lunch will be available at this meeting so please RSVP as soon as
possible so we can get the appropriate amount of food. Send your
