This diagram is taken from Michael MacDonald's field notes. The thought that is rendered into diagram is concerned with the physical space the song creates. While a discussion of magic is useful it must be, in a way, de-mystified, in order for the uninitiated listener to actually hear the words in the way they are used. Magic is not fairy-dust and Walt Disney magic spells, it is, in many cases, the physical manifestation of emotions, desires, dilemmas, so that they can be externalized and dealt with communally and a natural part of the human process.
