Transliteration (less vowels in Persian compare to English)

  • a - sounds like "a" in "and"
  • A - sounds like "u" in "run" or "o" in "hot"
  • c - sounds like "ch" in "Charlie"
  • e - sounds like "e" in "red"
  • i - sounds like "i" in machine
  • o - sounds like "o" in "for"
  • u - sounds like "oo" in "room"
  • y- sounds like "y" in "yellow"
  • kh (not in English) is the correct sound of "ch" in "Bach" in German
  • q (not in English) similar like the "r" in merci in French
