This is a funeral. The priest and the pevcha stand while the procession stops at the crossroads. When the procession stopped the priest would read a prayer and the pevcha would sing Our Father. The priest and the pevcha are from Dobranychivka. The two villages are so close that we easily walked from one to the other. The pevcha here did not have an independent ritual existence before the church was opened two years ago. If they gathered, it was to sing folk songs. They have learned religious verses in response to the founding of the church and the corresponding demands. They often complain about their lack of knowledge of the church service. It's possible they have been influenced by the priest who keeps complaining about the ignorance of the people.
