| The funeral of Hanna Petrivna Mateiko. The pevcha; this is a choir or sorts, a group of women who sing religious songs, both in church and at ritual functions such as funerals. If there is no priest, the pevcha alone will conduct the ritual. Here they accompany the priest as he conducts the funeral service. Note the kerchiefs tied around their arms. These are a gift from the family of the deceased and are a payment for the services provided by the pevcha.
