| The wedding of Serhii Mykolaiovych Brovarets to Zoia Ivanivna Zaiets. This is the church ceremony, as opposed to the civil ceremony which took place the day before. The groom did pass out and had to be supported by his mother and others for the rest of the service. Natalie Kononenko's (the folklorist) interpretation of this event was that the groom had had too much to drink at the celebration following the civil service the day before. Locals said that the groom's fainting meant that he had been evil-eyed.
