| The wedding of Serhii Mykolaiovych Brovarets to Zoia Ivanivna Zaiets. The couple is handed a korovai or wedding bread which was baked by their relatives the night before. They are supposed to break this bread. Whoever gets the larger piece will be the spouse who dominates in the marriage. The official announced that the bread broke evenly and that the couple would have a relationship in which each would carry equal rights and responsibilities.
