| The military museum next to the Lavra Monastery in Kyiv. The large female statue in the background on the left is the Motherland/Fatherland statue dedicated to soldiers fallen in the Second World War. Under it is a military museum and next to it, on the outside, is a showcase of large weapons, tanks, rockets, and so forth. There is a strong association between war and the sacred, an association that some religious people object to. Many churches were converted into war museums in the Soviet era. The military museum here is next to the Lavra Monastery, one of the most sacred sites in Ukraine.
