Front view of the University of Kyiv, the red campus. Supposedly the radical students supporting the Soviet Socialist Revolution painted the main buildings of the University red to express their political sentiments. The red campus has stayed red ever since. The rest of the university is painted a more discreet yellow/beige, like many of the buildings in the center of the city.
