Orlando’s new interface and free access for March

We’re delighted to confirm that Orlando: Women’s Writing in the British Isles from the Beginnings to the Present will again be free in March, in celebration of Women’s History Month.

This year, free access to the Orlando textbase begins 8 March, on International Women’s Day, and will enable users to explore its new interface. In it, Orlando‘s material has a new look, new tools, and new search methods. We’re thrilled about introducing it to everyone.

Orlando is a born-digital feminist literary history, produced collaboratively and published by Cambridge University Press since 2006. At present, it contains: 1,413 author profiles; 13,794 free-standing and 28,807 embedded timeline entries; 29,479 bibliographical listings; 2,749,854 tags; and 9,038,958 words (exclusive of tags). More than 31,000 people and more than 8,700 organizations are mentioned or discussed somewhere in the textbase.
