Description

Launched on October 24, 2018, Elemnt FM (or CFPT-FM) is an Indigenous radio station in Toronto broadcasting at 106.5 FM. It is owned by First Peoples Radio, a subsidiary of APTN. Broadcasting music and talk shows targeting First Nations communities, it focuses on contemporary and Indigenous musicians.

In June 2017, the CRTC awarded licences for five new Indigenous radio stations in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Toronto to replace the Voices Radio network. Since June 2018, the Toronto and Ottawa (CFPO-FM) stations are branded as Elemnt FM and they both broadcast a mixture of music and talk programming, including pop, rock, and R&B music. At least 25% of the music played by the station will be by Indigenous musicians in Canada. Upon the station's launch, Métis musician Janet Panic was announced as the Toronto station's evening host.
