The New Nation: La noovel naasyoon is published quarterly publication by the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI). In line with GDI's mission to promote the renewal and the development of Métis culture through research, materials development, collections and the distribution of those materials and the development and delivery of Métis-specific educational programs and services, the magazine promotes Métis history and culture, the Institute’s activities and programs, and the larger Métis community in the province. The New Nation is available as digital edition and a limited-run print edition free of charge to promote accessibility and readership.  

The New Nation was launched originally in 2010 and then ceased operations in 2013. The GDI relaunched the magazine in 2020 with their summer edition. Previous and current issues are available through The Virtual Museum of Métis History and Culture.
