Title
New Breed Magazine (formerly New Breed)
Minority studied
Métis in Saskatchewan
Description

New Breed was originally published for the Métis Nation Saskatchewan (MN-S) by the Grabiel Dumont Institute (GDI) as a monthly newsletter. In the 1980s, New Breed took on a newspaper style and later a magazine format. The last issue appeared in 2009. Almost fifty years after its first publication in 1970, New Breed was relaunched in 2019 as magazine published by the Gabriel Dumont Institute, on behalf of the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan. It is the voice for the Métis in Saskatchewan and covers topics ranging from politics to social and cultural aspirations of the Métis. Current and recent issues (since the relaunch) can be accessed online. Former editions of the newsletter and magazine have been made digitally available in The Virtual Museum of Métis History and Culture
