Title
Sions Väktaren

Description
Sions Väktaren (Guardian of Zion) was a Swedish language newspaper published in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was the second Swedish newspaper in Canada, after Den Sakandinaviske Canadiensaren. Sions Väktaren was a religious monthly, which was founded in 1892 by a Lutheran pastor named Svante Uddén. It was however in direct competition with Den Sakandinaviske Canadiensaren. According to one observer, the two newspapers "were conducted with a genuine theological hatred". Sions Väktaren was published for two years before being taken over by Konstantin Flemming and renamed in 1894.
